About us

Ruach is a Hebrew word meaning wind, breath or spirit.

Duo RUACH is made of Dorothea and Boguslaw Hegeduess who dedicated their love and life to the traditional Jewish music. They have in their repertoire a wide range of old tunes from Central and Eastern Europe. Dorothea squeezes the most sweet tones of her clarinet and Boguslaw adds his amazing rhythms and chords on his guitar and mandolin to recreate the musical identity of the 'Old World'.
They restore to this music its old shine, its original tunefulness and its closeness to dance. Dance, Song and Prayer are all central to their music.

RUACH plays concerts, participates in festivals, plays on the street, organizes educational events for schools, collaborates with theatres, plays at weddings. RUACH plays everywhere where the people want to meet traditional Jewish music.
